Great Whale Watching!
Reply #7 on : Thu February 25, 2010, 22:24:40
I was on the afternoon cruise on 23 February 2010. It was terrific! The narrator told us what to look for, and we found it. There were males fighting in the distance, surfacing and breaching here and there, but the highlight was a mother teaching her calf to breach - she demonstrated 22 times. It was great! Captain Ray ran a parallel course that let us watch the fun without apparently bothering the whales. We also saw dolphins at the start and end of the cruise, which was a nice bonus. I highly recommend this cruise. Not too crowded, comfortable seating, nice crew, knowledgeable narrator, and they use bio-diesel. How cool is that?

Mid-January Dolphin cruise

Wow! What a trip! The shore spotter got us to a pod of whales very quickly--we saw two great breaches! We later saw a very young calf and mom on the surface. Your commentator was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot about whale behavior in Kona and it was really a "class act"--a wonderful experience! B&A of Green Valley, AZ

Evening on the Reef Glass Bottom Dinner Cruise
Reply #4 on : Mon November 30, 2009, 21:15:53
Aloha,
I had a wonderful time Thanksgiving 2009 on your dinner cruise. I brought my fifteen year old son and his girlfriend. It was alot of fun. The dolphins met us at the beginning of the cruise and stayed with us the entire night. When we stopped to see the Manta Rays the dolphins stayed right next to the boat. The manta Rays were flying in and out underneath the boat. I took a lot of pictures.
When we started back to the dock the dolphins were riding the bow all the way back.
The dinner and service was great. The Polynesian show was fun too. I even got my son up to dance with me. It was really a memorable experience. Thank you Blue Sea cruises for a wonderful time.
